This project examines the interplay of shadows created by blue painter's tape on my studio window. The tape brought a new playful attention to the otherwise static view from my window. Narrowing and specifying the viewpoint makes the ordinary montages curious and exciting. From the street, observers are prompted to pause and reconsider their everyday surroundings with a fresh perspective. 

Inside my studio, I watch the ever-changing shadow-cast move throughout the day. This static piece of art - the tape - creates a surprisingly dynamic display within the space. This exploration culminated in charcoal drawings that traced the evolving patterns of these shadows. These evoke the essence of cyanotypes and other forms of cameraless photographs, yet they are distinctly hand-drawn and imperfect. Charcoal spills, hand slips, and shifting light outpacing my drawing, all contribute to the unique, imperfect charm and mimics the impossibility of capturing the intangible.
